Professional Year Program

The Professional Year Program assists Engineering/IT/Accounting hopefuls in improving their capabilities so that they can obtain job that matches their skills. The PY programme assists applicants in becoming proficient in their talents before entering the actual world. It is an excellent choice to get nurtured before entering a good organization.

All overseas students, IT graduates, Engineering graduates, and Accounting graduates receive a certain level of superiority under the Professional Year programme. It helps them prepare for their next adventure. Applicants who pass the Professional Year earn five points towards their Australia immigration application.

The overall program duration is 44 weeks. There are 12 weeks of internship, during which the applicant learns how to cope with the workplace environment in Australia, and how to communicate better.

What are the basic requirements to apply for a Professional Year Program?

  • The first criterion is that the candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting, IT, or Engineering disciplines.
  • The applicants need to score overall of 6 bands to apply for Post Study Work Stream 485.
  • As per the Accounting Professional Year Program, the applicant has to score six bands in each module for Temporary Graduate visa subclass 485, to get registered in a Professional Year Program. The applicant must have more than 12 months in hand for TR 485 Visa.

IT PROGRAM

The ACS (IT) Professional Year is an initiative by the Department of Home Affairs. It is designed for international graduates who possess an Australian IT degree. It provides a pathway to employment in Australia.

ENGINEERING PROGRAM

The EEA or Engineering Education Australia conceptualized the Engineering Professional Year program. This 44-week program was designed to enable international graduates in Engineering to gather essential insights about the demands and the culture of typical Australian workplaces.

ACCOUNTING PROGRAM

The Accounting Professional Year Program is developed by three organizations, namely the CPA Australia, ICA (Institute of Chartered Accountants) and IPA (Institute of Public Accountants. The Accounting PYP was formerly known as the SMIPA, and it helps international accounting graduates to develop the requisite skills to shine in their career in Australia.
