2025 - 26 NSW Skill Nominated Program Update

The New South Wales (NSW) Skilled Migration Program will officially commence after the Australian Government confirms the final allocations for each state and territory. In preparation, the program’s dedicated website has been updated with the latest information. Once the program is open, Investment NSW will also distribute a comprehensive newsletter to ensure all prospective applicants and stakeholders are informed.

For this new program year, the NSW Government will maintain the primary structure and settings established in the previous year, with only minor modifications introduced to further enhance clarity and accessibility.

Key updates include:

  • Revised Skills Lists: Both the NSW and Regional NSW skills lists have been updated to reflect current labor market needs and opportunities for skilled migrants.
  • TSMIT/CSIT Definition: The Terms ‘Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold’ (TSMIT) and ‘Comparable Skilled Income Threshold’ (CSIT) have now been formally defined, providing greater transparency for applicants.
  • Study in Regional NSW: Specific exceptions are in place for applicants whose entry to Australia was delayed due to student visa processing times by the Department of Home Affairs, particularly relevant under Pathway 3 – Direct Application.
  • Nomination Fees: Fees for subclass 491 and subclass 190 state nominations have been adjusted in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI), with the current rate set at $363.
  • Invitation Rounds will be conducted regularly—approximately every 2 to 3 weeks—until all available allocations for the program year have been filled. The NSW Government is committed to providing ongoing updates and transparent communications throughout the year to keep applicants informed of any changes or important dates.
